While I was there, at the Atlantic website, I nabbed this little quotelet from Andrew Sullivan’s blog, where he bestowed upon the Times the moniker Correction of the Day:
“A headline last Sunday about a Muslim man and an Orthodox Jewish woman who are partners in two Dunkin’ Donuts stores described their religions incorrectly. The two faiths worship the same God — not different ones,” – The New York Times, November 25.
reading your old entries, this made me laugh.
my cousin, a catholic, married a woman from a ‘hardshelled’ southern baptist family.
he married in her family’s church.
i still remember the preacher saying, “and now, with this union, they can worship the same god”
back then, i turned to my aunt and said, “what, we’ve more than one and i didn’t know?”
